Sale Policies🐐

Thank you for your interest in purchasing an animal from Wrights Mini Farm! We take great pride in our Nigerian Dwarf goats and want every buyer to have a clear understanding of our policies before placing a reservation or deposit.

Our Terms of Sale are subject to change. By placing a reservation or deposit on an animal, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to the terms outlined below.

General Terms

  • Wrights Mini Farm reserves the right to cancel and refund any sale at any time at our discretion.
  • We do not guarantee the adult height, size, or conformation of any animal. While we cannot guarantee how an animal will mature, we will not knowingly sell an animal with an obvious or visible defect.
  • If a concern or defect becomes apparent after purchase, please contact us as soon as possible and provide pictures and/or videos so that we can evaluate the situation and determine how best to address it.
  • Wrights Mini Farm reserves the right to retain any kid from any breeding.
  • Animals are sold on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE basis, subject to our right to retain animals.
  • We will do our best to work with buyers and transporters in a timely manner; however, the buyer is responsible for arranging transportation unless otherwise agreed upon.

 

 

🐐 Kids

All kids, regardless of registration status, will receive the following before leaving our farm:

  • Tattooing
  • Disbudding
  • Hoof trimming
  • CD&T vaccination
  • Current medical history
  • A small amount of their current feed
  • Bill of sale

Registration

Show-quality kids will have their ADGA registration paperwork submitted online and sent to the buyer's ADGA cart, along with a bill of sale.

If the buyer does not have an active ADGA membership, we can provide a paper ADGA application; however, online registration is strongly preferred.

Pet-quality does and wethers will not be registered. They are specifically designated as pet quality for a reason, and registration will not be provided for these animals.

We may give preference to performance-oriented herds and returning customers when placing kids.

Deposits & Payment

A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a kid. The remaining amount is due when the kid is picked up.

  • Deposits must be received within 24 hours of the buyer stating that they wish to reserve the animal.
  • Deposits are non-refundable unless Wrights Mini Farm cancels the sale or the animal dies while in our care.
  • We accept PayPal, Venmo, and cash.
  • The buyer is responsible for arranging transportation.

Pickup

Kids must be picked up by 8 - 12 weeks of age, unless another arrangement has been made with Wrights Mini Farm.

A $3 per day boarding fee will be charged for any buck or doe remaining at the farm beyond 12 weeks without a prior agreement.

Once an animal leaves Wrights Mini Farm, we are no longer responsible for anything that may happen to the animal while in the buyer's care or during transportation.

 

 

🐐 Adult Bucks & Does

All registered adult animals will leave our farm with:

  • ADGA registration certificate, unless otherwise stated
  • Bill of sale
  • Current medical history
  • Probiotics
  • A small bag of their current feed

Deposits & Payment

A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve an adult buck or doe. The remaining 50% is due at pickup.

  • Deposits must be received within 24 hours of the buyer stating that they wish to reserve the animal.
  • Deposits are non-refundable unless Wrights Mini Farm cancels the sale or the animal dies while in our care.
  • Buyers have 30 days from the date of deposit to pick up their animal unless another arrangement has been made in advance.
  • Failure to pick up the animal within the agreed-upon timeframe may result in forfeiture of the purchase and deposit.
  • The buyer is responsible for arranging transportation.

 

 

📋 Reservation List

Interested in a future kid? You can request to be added to our reservation list by messaging us on Facebook or contacting us by email.

A reservation fee is not required to secure your place on the reservation list.

  • Buyers are placed on the reservation list in the order their reservation is received.
  • Once the kid is born, we will contact reservation holders in order.
  • After we contact you, you will have 24 hours to place the required $50 non-refundable deposit on the kid.
  • If the deposit is not received within 24 hours, we may move on to the next reservation holder, and a kid will no longer be guaranteed.
  • If you're unsure which doe you'd like a kid from, tell us what you're looking for! We'd be happy to help point you toward the breeding that may best fit your goals.
  • All reservation lists are considered behind any kids Wrights Mini Farm has chosen to retain.

 

 

🧬 DNA & Parent Verification

Parent verification is completely optional and is available at the buyer's request.

If you would like your kid parent-verified, please let us know before pickup. If hair samples from the sire and dam are not already on file, we can pull the necessary samples when possible.

Please understand:

  • The buyer is responsible for all costs associated with DNA testing and parent verification.
  • We may not be able to provide hair samples for sires that we do not own.
  • Parent verification will only be performed on animals bred by Wrights Mini Farm and carrying the Wrights Mini Farm herd name.

 

 

🧬 Congenital Myotonia (CM)

At this time, Wrights Mini Farm does not routinely test our herd for Congenital Myotonia (CM). We recognize that CM is an undesirable trait in Nigerian Dwarf goats and take the condition seriously.

At this time, unless an animal is presenting symptoms consistent with an affected animal, we do not currently plan to test every animal in our herd.

Buyer-Requested Testing

If a buyer wishes to have an animal tested for CM before pickup, we are happy to arrange testing at the buyer's expense.

Testing may be performed through UC Davis, ADGA, or GenSol, as appropriate.

If a registered animal tests CM/N (carrier):

  • The animal will not be refunded or replaced.
  • A carrier does not exhibit the characteristics of an affected CM/CM animal.
  • Being a carrier does not mean that all offspring will automatically be carriers.

If a registered animal tests CM/CM (affected):

  • Wrights Mini Farm will provide a 100% purchase-price credit toward the purchase of another animal from our farm.
  • Proof of the official test results must be provided before any credit will be issued.

By placing a reservation or deposit on an animal from Wrights Mini Farm, you confirm that you have read, understand, and agree to all of the Terms of Sale listed above.

We are always happy to answer questions before you place a reservation or deposit. Our goal is to make the process as clear and positive as possible for both our buyers and our goats.
