Wrights Mini Farm Sales Policy

We consider our goats part of our family, and for that reason it is very important to us that they all go to good homes. In order to purchase a goat from our farm you must meet the following requirements

Goats are herd animals and need to be kept in groups of at least 2 or more. If you do not have other goats, you will be asked to consider purchasing at least two goats. While other animals can be companions, they should be a similar size.

You must have a safe place of containment with adequate access to food, water, shelter. I reserve the right to refuse a sale if the housing is found to be inadequate (ex- field with no barn).

Be knowledgeable on your goats and how to take care of them. While I am happy to help you out on your journey, you do have to know what you're getting into when bringing goats onto your farm. Goats are just like other animals and they are a long-term commitment (life expectancy of Nigerian Dwarfs is 12-14 years) I will work closely with those who are fairly new to goats; however, I reserve the right to turn down any potential buyer that I don’t feel will provide quality care. If you know nothing at all about goats, for the welfare of the animals, I urge you to do some research on goat care before making your first purchase.

Health Record

All goats leaving our farm will be tattooed, disbudded (within the first week of age unless otherwise pre-arranged) and have current CD/T shots. We do not provide any guarantee on scurs. No animal will leave the farm unless we feel they’re in optimum health. When goats leave the farm, I provide a starter ziplock bag of kid feed to help transition them to their new home.

Health Guarantee

All Animals are guaranteed healthy at the time of sale; HOWEVER BECAUSE WE CANNOT CONTROL ANY STRESS THAT MAY OCCUR AS A RESULT OF TRANSPORTATION OR THE ANIMAL’S ENVIRONMENT ONCE THEY LEAVE OUR FARM, WE CANNOT OFFER FURTHER GUARANTEES.

At the time of the deposit you will be given an expected date of pick up. If there is a postponement on our part there are no additional fees, however, if there is a postponement on the buyer's part there is a $10.00 per a day charge for the care/feed of their goat. I will hold the purchased animal for two weeks after the original scheduled pickup date (with daily charges accrued as state above). After two weeks, if the goat has not been picked up the animal may be offered to another buyer and any deposits will be forfeited. We thank you for understanding.

Registration Papers
If an animal is capable of being registered, then I will provide the registration papers for the owner to submit. A goat will be given the ADGA registration papers and the buy is responsible for submitting the transfer paperwork and applicable fees. Once the goat is registered with ADGA it can be registered with NDGA and AGS from the ADGA paperwork (this is the responsibility of the buyer). Registration papers will not be issued for wethers as pets. If you want registration paperwork to show your wether, you must let me know and a $25 fee for registration papers will be added to your total.

Buyers are responsible for the following additional costs

  1. Any additional blood tests or other health-related examinations which are required by the state.
  2. Transfer of Registration Certificates to your name.
  3. Any shipping costs plus the cost of any shipping crates.

Farm Visits/Biosecurity
We consider biosecurity to be very important for the health of our herd. For this reason we do not allow unscheduled farm visits or public farm tours. If you are interested in purchasing one of our goats we will arrange for a scheduled visit and ask that you respect our biosecurity measurements when you arrive. We may elect not to have a goat re-enter our property once they have left our herd. However, we do expect & require (also common courtesy) for the purchaser to always give us first right of refusal on any animal they have purchased from us in past and find that they need to re-home.

Wrights Mini Farm reserves the right to retain any animal born on our farm at any time. We reserve the right to refuse business with anyone for any reason.
